where i’m at

The day after returning from my North Carolina trip my rusty ole laptop decided it was time to leave this world.  This is why no updates, posts or anything in almost a month now.  It’s different without a computer.  The XBOX takes care a few of the online needs but not all.  Gone are the streaming NetFlix movies as we lie in bed.  No more YouTube trips that last much longer than they should.

If anyone knows of a great cheap (or free) computer or laptop please let me know.

I will leave you all with SWEET NIBLETS

A good ol’ fashioned Buffett swap.  Imagine the fun then Warren and Jimmy trade places for 6 months.

Never thought I would say this:  give Philadelphia police Bibles.  A pastor in Illinois used one to protect himself from flying bullets, why shouldn’t the rest of us.

An end to censorship on all levels.

And maybe, just maybe for us all to dance a little more often.

Once again word on the street regarding the most recent CHCA meeting was not the most positive of rumors.  Luckily someone recorded this…

I can only say that when I discovered this all other forms of media ceased for three days. Miles & Jarrett were paused and that Law & Order didn’t get watched and I sat on my bottom staring at the same video on the interweb.

Let’s start with a link…  http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2009/02/stabbing_death_of_homeless_new.html

Then move on to the HEADLINE attached to this link:  “Stabbing death of homeless New Orleans man ruled a homicide”. Anyone else kind of live their life assuming that a “stabbing death”, by definition is a homicide?

Moving on…  according to this article the aroma found in English “Chips” is a complex blend of “butterscotch, cocoa, onion, cheese and would you believe …ironing boards, all combine to help make chips one of Britain’s iconic dishes.”

A monkey can successfully be taught how to ride a Segway in Japan, yet in wonderful America one out of five licensed drivers would not get a passing score if retested today, sixty percent change lanes on highways without using turn signals and, get this: one out of five did not know that highways become slippery after it begins to rain.  All this according a 2008 GMAC study.

It is worth it, I guess, when this is the result.  And it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

Gathering the Judges

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Not as fun as Watching the Detectives, but WOOT WOOT….

Looking to pull together the celebrity judges for the Party at the Tavern.  Have three good
choices, waiting on their yeses.  Last year we attempted this to great success.  Prizes provided
by Mango, Drake’s Gourmet Foods, the Hill Tavern, Artisan’s on the Ave and others were
awarded to best costumes.  Winners last year included “Lame Excuses” and a “Cereal Killer”.
Please check out this year’s party, Friday October 31st at the Tavern on the Hill.  The Dodge
City Junkies (Roger Learnard, Rich Ingersol, Drew Eriksen, Tony Garro and myself) will be
providing music, witty banter and Rog and I will be your emcees for the night.

And then I found this… … … …

someone please PLEASE explain… …
